JDP Scholars

Each year the Jayda Dionne Scholarship Fund selects and honors an incoming freshman or current college student with a one-year scholarship. We are pleased to recognize our recipients who have demonstrated hard work, willingness to help others and determination against tremendous odds.

Ashley Bryant

2024-2025 Recipient

Ms. Ashley Bryant, an outstanding scholar and member of the National Association of Black Journalists has overcome adversity with excellence and exemplifies Jayda Dionne Parker's mantra of hard work, determination, and benevolence. Ms. Bryant aspires to encourage others to "embrace resilience", strives to "show adversity is merely a crossroads, leading to new opportunities," and at only 19 years of age despite setbacks which would have deterred many from persevering, secured a video production internship with the Portland Trail Blazers, the youngest and the only woman of color in that department.
